MX-5 NB centre-console lid hinge

This replacement centre-console storage lid hinge is printed to order in heat- and UV-resistant ASA. The design has thicker walls and triangular gussets, and is intended to replace a broken factory console lid hinge. It is the hinge only – not the lid, latch or console.

Intended for

The design is based on a hinge made for the Mazda MX-5 (Miata) NB1, reported for 1999–2000 cars, and it has been reported as installed in two cars. We have not yet confirmed the fit on each model.

UK cars of this generation were sold as the MX-5 Mk2 (reported as 1998–2000), and how the reported years map to UK cars has not been confirmed. Please compare your original hinge before ordering.

Fitting

The design uses a screw fixing. Screws are not included; please contact us before ordering if you need to know exactly which fixings are required.

The hinge carries the lid during everyday armrest use and sits in a car interior that can get hot. Avoid leaning heavily on the lid, and check the hinge from time to time after fitting.

Material & finish

Printed to order in our workshop in Great Dunmow, Essex. Heat- and UV-resistant ASA is used for the hinge, in black. Fine layer lines are a normal part of the 3D-printed finish.
