Olympus XA shutter release button (single)

This replacement shutter button is printed to order in tough PETG. It is intended to replace the outer shutter release button on an Olympus XA where the original is broken or missing. The original button is red; ours is printed in black.

Intended for

The design is based on a shutter button the designer made for their own Olympus XA after the original broke during a repair. It is modelled on the original button, including the lower structure that works the release. We have not yet confirmed the fit on this model.

Check the fit

This listing is for the designer's standard-size button. The designer also published two slightly smaller versions (0.2 mm and 0.3 mm smaller across the button) because the fit can vary, so please message us before ordering if you have any doubt. Include clear photos of the button opening on your camera and any remains of the old button, so we can help identify what you need.

Fitting

Fitting the button is a small repair job and may involve opening the camera. If you are not comfortable doing this, have it fitted by a camera repairer. After fitting, check that the button moves freely and releases the shutter as intended before regular use.

Material & finish

Printed to order in our workshop in Great Dunmow, Essex. Tough PETG is used for the button, in black (the original button is red). Fine layer lines are a normal part of the 3D-printed finish. Very small details may look softer than on a moulded part.
