Big Bean Coffee is the coffee shop of a workshop that makes things to order.
MAYDE began as a small 3D-printing workshop in Great Dunmow, Essex, making replacement parts that manufacturers had stopped supplying. The habit of making exactly what is needed, one at a time, never left. It shaped our personalised storybooks, and now it shapes our coffee.
Big Bean started with an object: a ribbed holder for paper filters, printed in a warm brown, that sat by the kettle and was picked up more than anything else on the worktop. The two lobes and the flowing contour lines became the mark on every bag, and the bag became a subscription.
We keep the range short on purpose. A few coffees we are happy to drink every day, roasted in small batches and posted on your rhythm, plus a small family of printed objects designed to sit beside them. And something more to look forward to: thoughtful subscriber gifts from the same workshop.
