Sony WH-1000XM4 earcup hinge swivel (single)

This replacement hinge swivel is printed to order in tough PETG. It is the small swivel piece between the headband arm and the earcup, and is intended to replace one that has snapped – a common failure on these headphones.

What you get

• One hinge swivel in black PETG.
• Swivel only: the metal clip/pin, screws, headphones, earcup and cables are not included – the original metal clip/pin is reused.
• Fitting requires partly dismantling the hinge – see FITTING below.

Intended for

The design is based on a swivel made for the Sony WH-1000XM4, and the designer reports that the same part fits the left and right sides. It is not for the WH-1000XM3 or XM5. We have not yet confirmed the fit on this model.

Check the fit

Compare your broken swivel with the photos before ordering, and check that the metal clip/pin is still present. If you are unsure, message us with clear photos of the hinge area and the broken part, so we can help identify what you need.

Fitting

Remove the earcup from the broken swivel and keep the metal clip/pin. Fit the replacement in the same orientation, refit the clip/pin, route the cable through the channel without pinching it and refit the earcup. Rotate the earcup slowly through its full travel before regular use, and stop using the part if it shows cracks. Please message us before ordering if you need more detail.

Material & finish

Printed to order in our workshop in Great Dunmow, Essex. Tough black PETG is used for the swivel, printed at a fine layer height. Fine layer lines are a normal part of the 3D-printed finish.
