Rear I/O port door for Apple PowerBook 100 series

This replacement rear I/O port door is printed to order in black ASA. It is intended to replace the hinged flap that covers the rear ports on PowerBook 100-series laptops, which often snaps off at its hinge pegs or goes missing. It is the door only – the laptop is not included.

Intended for

The design is based on a rear port door made for the Apple PowerBook 180, and the designer reports testing their own print on a PowerBook 180 only. The same door is reported for the PowerBook 140, 145, 145B, 160, 165, 165c, 170 and 180c. We have not yet confirmed the fit on each model.

Check the fit

Check your PowerBook's model and compare the rear port area, including the hinge points, before ordering. If you are unsure, send us a message with your model and clear photos of the rear of the case, so we can help identify what you need.

Fitting

The door is held by small hinge pegs and closes with a small latch. Fit it gently and do not force the pegs, then check that the door opens and closes freely before regular use.

Material & finish

Printed to order in our workshop in Great Dunmow, Essex. ASA, a heat- and UV-resistant material, is used for the door. Fine layer lines are a normal part of the 3D-printed finish. The door is black and is not colour-matched to the original grey case.
